Elizabeth Mustaro is a native of Toronto, Canada.
Her interest in dance began at a very early age with the study
of ballet. Her interest in art also included piano, drawing
and painting. After high school, Elizabeth pursued a career
in art at Ontario College of Art. Upon graduating, she was awarded
a grant from the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation and traveled
to Italy to study abroad.
After studying art and Italian, for five years
in Italy, Elizabeth moved to the United States and resumed both
her oil painting and her life long love of dance.
Elizabeth now focuses on partner dancing with
an emphasis on International Standard. She practiced this discipline
weekly for nearly three years with Ted Ross of the East Bay
and has performed with him. While studying partner dancing at
Stars Ballroom, she was soon invited to begin teaching dance.
She taught and trained for several years at Stars Ballroom,
teaching hundreds of classes and private lessons, and hosting
Friday and Saturday night dance parties, before relocating to
Bay West Dancesport Academy of San Rafael in July of 2004.
Over the past few years Elizabeth has expanded
her training to include West Coast Swing, Latin, and Country.
Elizabeth has had the opportunity to work with numerous top
teachers in various fields. She is proud to have studied regularly
over the years with world-renowned Blackpool Finalists Glenn
Weiss and Maya Serve of Denmark in both private lessons and
seminars. She has also been coached by Gary McIntyre of Calgary,
Alberta and the legendary Ray Rivers of San Diego. Elizabeth
currently studies with Mark Nelson Novak, specializing in Latin,
and has recently begun training with U S Open Swing Dance Champion
Kelly Casanova.
Now at Bay West Dancesport Academy of San Rafael,
she teaches back-to-back group classes on Thursday nights and
hosts dance parties on the second Saturday of each month. Elizabeth
has recently begun teaching at brand new dances by DJs Jim Cripps
and Freddie-Marsh Lott in Santa Rosa.
Elizabeth is registered with the NDCA (National
Dance Council of America) as a Pro/Am Teacher and Competing
Professional. She teaches both group and private lessons at
